why.go?

Matthew 28:18-21
Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Tunica. Mississippi. July 19-25, 2008

Four adult leaders and six youth served with AIM, Adventures in Missions, for a week in July. Their time was spent sharing the love of Christ through a daily Vacation Bible School, sports camp, service projects, and evangelism. Tunica, Mississippi still struggles immensely with racial segregation. Our youth helped break drown these walls by giving of their time and talents. The youth’s passion for evangelism was greatly increased through this mission. Our students were able to lead several individuals to Christ on this trip. Please continue to pray for racial segregation to diminish and for follow-up and discipleship for the new believers in Tunica.

tijuana. mexico. july 19-26, 2008

A team of twelve WBC members served in Tijuana, Mexico for a week in July. They partnered with the Buena Vista Baptist Church, which WBC has been serving with for eight years. The team assisted with the ongoing construction of the church and spent the evenings teaching and fellowshipping with the members.  The team also held a Vacation Bible School in a new residential area that doesn’t have a church within ten miles. Nine children accepted Christ during the V.B.S. Please continue to pray for Buena Vista Baptist Church and for a church plant to be established in the residential area where VBS was held.

senegal, africa. february 8-18, 2008

Jean Lanier served for a week alongside the Stelzer family and Debbie Hawkins who are serving with the International mission board in Senegal, Africa.  Jean’s time was spent mentoring and building friendships with Muslim ladies who reside in Africa. Please pray for the safety of the Muslims who turn to Christ as they face much persecution for turning to Christ from Islam.

london, england. december 13-23, 2008

Elizabeth Highsmith served with Operation Mobilization for ten days by reaching out to the numerous Muslims that reside in London. Her time was spent learning about Muslim beliefs and effective ways to share Christ with Muslims. Then applying what she learned by sharing Christ on the streets through literature distribution and conversations with Muslims. Many of the 1.5 Muslims living in the United Kingdom, were able to receive literature in their native language and many were able to hear personal testimonies from believers about the love of Jesus Christ. Please pray for the work of OM with Muslims living in London and that Muslims across the world will turn to the light of the world, Jesus Christ.
